    Great for shopping, restaurants and attractions close by.

    Great for shopping, restaurants and attractions close by. Zynodoa Restaurant had the best scallop dinner and the bar tender recommended a wonderful french wine that was a great pair for the scallops! Would recommend Hotel 24 for the stay, nice accommandations close to shops, restaurants, Blackfriars Shakespeare Theater, and Virginia Scenic Railroad station. Be sure to purchase your tickets online for train ride as there is no person at the station to buy or ask questions. Show your tickets in at the boarding gate. Food served on the Virginia Scenic Railroad was very good. Frontier Museum was very accomandating for seniors. Lots of walking to the exibits which they provide shuttle service.

    Plenty to do in this quaint, old, old-fashioned all-American...

    Plenty to do in this quaint, old, old-fashioned all-American town. Activities and attractions are all easily accessible, the Main Street is a throwback to an earlier time in America before the big box stores. All the chain restaurants and hotels are on the outskirts of the main downtown area. The Shakespeare Theater and the Scenic Train Ride were highlights of our trip.

    The Shakespeare theater is well-known for quality productions. The historic architecture is striking and most of the buildings have been beautifully restored. There are several wonderful restaurants. We had no problem finding delicious vegan options in several different places—Helios Mediterranean Cafe, the Mill Street Grill and the Pampered Palate Cafe, to name a few. The shops and boutiques downtown are unique and fun to browse through. Lots of book shops. We noticed a lot of fliers for a variety of cultural events in the town. Just a fun place to spend a few days.

    Historic elegant unique and amazing - Eidelweiss authentic Black Forest German restaurant, blocked off walking Street mall, Shenandoah Virginia scenic Railway, the most amazing B&B and hotels like Hotel 24 and the Oakdene It's so much awesome also the museums in natural features

    I'm asked for a review but I didn't go out after only 1...

    I'm asked for a review but I didn't go out after only 1 night. I don't have a lot I can share. Except a friend whom I met there treated me for pizza. He picked up a pie from Pizza Luca. A large was the size of a medium. We were disappointed seeing that it was highly rated. Average pizza at best. Our area seemed nice and safe and that's about what I can tell ya.

    I have been to Staunton many times.

    I have been to Staunton many times. There are some good restaurants and places to stay. I was never a fan of Shakespeare until I went to the Blackfriars Theatre. It was great. There is a really large antique mall in Verona. Staunton has a big park, a golf course, and in the summer, a minor league baseball team. I don't think I would visit in the winter time.

    Loved the historical perspective of the hotel. The renovations retained the charm.The staff was very helpful. The parking was in the city garage but there was an elevator that went to the lobby so it was very convenient.
