The hop on hop off bus is a good way to get out of town to visit some of the tombs and a pagoda. Some of this can also be visited by boat. The main attraction is the Imperial City. The river is nice. Plenty of activity on the opposite side of the river from the Imperial City. History. Very good food and variety of great places to eat. There were multiple local eateries with English menues and helpful staff, real and cheaper food. Good place to experience Vietnamese meals. A few high class restaurants nearby as well. Lovely walk along river at night with the lights. What a relief after the crazy, narrow streets of Sapa and Hanoi! In those places, even walking is stressful with all the cars and bikes packed together. Hue is so much more chill - wider roads, safer to walk around, and people aren’t rushing everywhere. The city’s built around this lovely river, and everything’s cheaper than in Hanoi.
