Great location. Veronika is an excellent cook. The price for transportation to the volcano is 3000 watts less than in the surrounding resorts. Veronika's husband took us to a local village with a Kava tasting and indigenous dancers. I highly recommend.

Best experience and time on Vanuatu!! Mike and his whole family go above and beyond making your stay a real „once in a lifetime adventure!“ The bungalows offer an absolutely amazing view of Mt. Yasur and during the evening you can watch the volcano spit red ash into the air! The food was absolutely delicious!! Thank you so much to Lina for preparing delicious meals where you can choose between a vegetarian and non vegetarian option! Sleeping inside the tree house is an experience and adventure on its own! We definitely recommend staying at least for 2-3 nights to also enjoy the beautiful surroundings! There are no other tourists around for miles! The drive from the west coast or from the airport to the bungalows are a crazy adventure and totally worth paying the 5000 Vatu (2500VUV if there are more than one person) - you need 4x4 Drive to get there - it is literally impossible to get there otherwise - you will cross rivers, volcanic ash, lush jungle streets! Just Amazing!! No other drivers will take you there so just pay the 5000 Vatu and let Mike or his Dad Sam come get you. Don’t stay at any of the fancy resorts on Tanna - if you really want to experience an amazing and authentic time in Tanna then you should definitely stay with Mike and his family! Would stay there every time!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is only a couple of minutes away from the airport which is super convenient. I booked tours separately but they also offered these directly which can get you to all the key locations around the island.

Joel and his famile are the best hosts! So friendly, warm and welcoming. They can help you arrange airport transfer, visit to the mountain, cultural village, cannibals, etc. All at great prices. They can cook lunch and dinner for a small fee and provide free water all you can drink. The treehouse is amazing with the best view. Location is great and very close to the visitorcenter and the ash plane (15 min. Walk). You can even see the volcano from the balcony and hear it’s roar. We were their very first guests and really enjoyed our 2 night stay. They are working hard to improve everyday but the basics are in place. However, there is no electricity so bring a full powerbank and a headlamp.

Charlie is a very good host , knows everyone on the island and can arrange , tours , flights to accomodate any of your needs . He and his family were so hospitable , it was the highlight of my stay on Tanna to stay with them , they have a beautiful beach just 10min walk which the village children love to play in , the water is crystal clear . I love the hut it’s a tradition style and the food was beautiful , organic and fresh which his wife makes over traditional wood fire . I highly recommend staying with Charlie and using his tours . Not to forget Tom his driver who knows his stuff when it comes to four wheel driving through the volcanic ash plains and rivers to get to the top of the volcano . ( Charlie is a math teacher at the village school , supplies are limited on the island so recommend brining some stationary , pens , crayons , books ect )

The location is absolutely fantastic with beautiful views. The garden is really great, beautifully lush. The rooms are incredibly beautifully decorated with an eye for detail, each with a fantastic terrace or a balcony. Privacy for each room is guaranteed by the clever design of the entire accommodation. The grounds with garden and orchard are great to walk through. There is a path down where you can easily enter the water to go snorkeling in calm water. Such beautiful coral with its even more beautiful fish, you're in a real time aquarium! The restaurant is open and very spacious with absolutely the best food! Every day another menu is really awesome to choose from. The owners/ managers and staff are very friendly and very helpful to arrange everthing you would love to do. At the end of the day the staff made a fire in the firepit to enjoy the sunset with a drink, just before dinner. The managers arranged all the excursions that we wanted to do and took care that everything went according to plan, wow! To experience the volcano from so close is a super special experience and great that we saw, felt and smelled that. The route to it through the ashplanes was absolutely amazing! Yakel village was also a super special experience with beautiful people. Also a visit to the banyan tree was magical! A tip I want to give, go to the website to read all the excursions you can do on site in advance. So that you know what you want to do when you get there and can book directly to optimize your stay. We absolutely loved Tanna and loved our stay at the Resort and whished we could have stayed even longer!

I couldn’t wait to write this review as soon as I returned to Sydney. Robort and his family were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted me in arranging all my trips, including how to get to the treehouse, transportation to the airport, booking flight tickets, visiting the volcano, and even took me to the celebration. When I didn’t have enough cash to buy a ticket, Robort kindly helped me cover 600 Vatu—I’m truly grateful for that. His daughters were also adorable and guided me through the local tribal culture. They were all very patient. The condition of the treehouse was better than I expected. While it’s inevitable to see some small bugs, I didn’t encounter any rats. The treehouse is located right opposite the entrance to the volcano, just a two-minute walk to the ticket office—very convenient.

Perfect accommodation if you’re looking for a very remote and cultural experience. View to Volcano is stunning. Lovely staff, specially Daniel organising tours and Gela cooking delicious breakfast and meals. Hope to be back in the future!!
