Very special place. Like many others in South Africa - specially in Garden Route - the staff was specially careful and nice. It was our honeymoon and they manage to guarantee everything, including a boat ride from Gansbaai. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the city of Hermanus is a very special destination to enjoy.

This hotel is a true gem! Right on the beautiful Grotto Beach it is a slice of paradise. We stayed in the beautiful Southern Right Suite, and a suite is is!! The sliding glass doors open to the beach, the breakfast is served on the terrace with views in the beautiful garden. In the evening you enter your room to a burning fire and sit with a sherry watching the fire and listening to the waves. In walking distance is a nice restaurant you can walk to on the beach. The pool is small, but heated and adds up to the perfect experience.

The room/apartment exceeded our expectations in terms of size, decor, views from the room, fireplace, kitchen facilities and the best part it being central to everything in Hermanus. We parked safely right next to our door in gated garage, but we never even used the car, we walked and explored the whole Hermanus from right out of our hotel room/apartment.

    Great place and saw whales, great eating places, shops etc. Lovely views and safe beachfront walks. Lots of places nearby like Stanford and many excellent wine farms in the Hemel and Aarde Valley road.

    The establishment is very serene, well looked after and it has all the amenities not to mention an exceptional view of the ocean. Most importantly, it’s managed and owned by the warmest hosts and it offers the most wholesome breakfast! We will definitely be going back!

    Hermanus is a pretty town with some lovely shops, art galleries and restaurants. I really enjoyed the coastal path to walk along to enjoy views of the sea, and hopefully spot some whales. We went on a great boat ride to see the whales a bit closer.

    So many amenities within a short distance from the accommodation and we were lucky to see whales on each of the four days that we were there. The town and area was very clean and easy to get around. We hope to visit there again soon.

    We saw lots of whales from the coastal path without...

    We saw lots of whales from the coastal path without necessarily having to go far from Gearing’s Point. The weather affects sightings-our final morning was windier and we saw nothing in an hour. Consider boat trips from the New Harbour in Hermanus to save the drive to and from Gansbaai. We saw hundreds of dolphins which swam right next to the boat for ages, a protracted and close encounter with a humpback whale and several southern rights with Hermanus Whale Watchers - we even glimpsed a Bryde’s whale and some seals. Hermanus is a relaxed town which makes tourists feel very welcome.

    Tito‘s Omelettes are the best ever eaten! Thanks Tito! Great and thought through service. very close by the sea - easy for a swim before breakfast. Towels available at the reception. we also liked the welcome drink at our lovely room with sea view, overlooking the bay over to Hermanus. the board walk along the beach starts riggt in front of the hotel. sunsets are also great to be watched from the balkony.

    Our upper floor, sea view room was huge and beautifully furnished with all you could wish for in terms of facilities. The other areas of the hotel were similarly beautifully done. Breakfasts were amazing and dining in was also good. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle in and out of town - very handy. I think the website under sells this up- market boutique hotel.

    The service was excellent, Connor who was the main person we dealt with was outstanding, he helped arranged transfers to and from the Hotel for us with very limited notice. The location of this Hotel makes everything in Hermanus so close- you can walk everywhere. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Connor for being so helpful.

    Gorgeous hotel overlooking the bay. The staff were amazing, we had such a warm welcome from the hotel manager Kevin and throughout our stay he could not do enough to help us and make our stay so special. The rooms were lovely and breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended for a stay in Hermanus.
