It was the perfect holiday oasis far from reality but conveniently close enough to civilization. The food was absolutely delicious, every person working there was so wonderful and genuinely invested in our stay being comfortable and enjoyable. The lodge recently changed owners, but has kept on much of the staff and is very recognizable to anyone having stayed there before. The location is extremely peaceful and serene, yet just a few minutes drive from the excellent Casterbridge lifestyle center, with all its charming shops and eateries. The staff is lovely and made us feel right at home. There is no playground, but the lush grounds offer plenty of space for kids to run around and explore. Our kids really loved sleeping in a bunk bed in a family room as well. We did not have dinner on-site, but we very much enjoyed the yummy hot breakfast options. We will definitely be coming back.
