The owner did such a good job at this farm, amazing. His service was impeccable and fast. Why can't more places on earth be as tranquil as this? The Braai/breakfast baskets...the donkeys...the herb & fruit garden... the lily pond... feeding the chickens... what is not to love? We did taco night on Sunday at a nearby restaurant which was adorable, with live music. We then had the Braai basket; The meat is insane, and so is the wildlife and the stars. The bed is giant and comfy, the breakfast is fantastic. The pool is great, the botchi ball finishes it off. Insanely good stay. Just wonderful. PS: The donkeys love apples from the garden. Having them just right out of your backyard was fantastic.

Andy's and his wife who hosted us are two wonderful people. We had a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The garden with its swimming pool is cosy and peaceful. The ideal place to energize the body and mind. Everything is clean and well equipped. We would like to visit again. Then we will stay longer.

Friendly check-in and a great safe stay. Beautiful views of the dam and the mountains. The tents are so comfortable and well fitted out. It was fabulous to have the aircon and a large deck to relax. The bird life is amazing and the walks in the vineyards and protea fields are most enjoyable.

    Stanford is a quaint, peaceful and very beautiful Village.

    Stanford is a quaint, peaceful and very beautiful Village. It offers the chance to rekindle your oneness with nature and explore the beauty of the surrounding countryside and Reserves. Stanford offers a unique shopping experience, which seemingly encourages a more relaxed, ambient pastime. We were very privileged to be able to dine at Madre's, an iconic restaurant with food to match, a gastronomic experience in itself. There appears to be annual shows held in the town, those being the Flower Show and the Motor Shows, both of which appear to attract great interest from locals and holidaymakers alike. A beautiful and very special town, with its very own personality and charm.

    We specifically visited Stanford because the Stanford in...

    We specifically visited Stanford because the Stanford in Bloom Festival was on at the time, which made lots of sense for both convenience and pleasure. Coots Club had daily excursions on offer, but being South African we were more than comfortable keeping ourselves busy. A day or two here is enough, it is also a fabulous springboard for activities in and around the area.

    Well run and clean village, close to all the amenities in Hermanus, but still having a country feel. Superb meal at Agteros, Chelsea exhibit was stunning and permaculture garden of Cavelle Kelly was fascinating.

    It's a quiet, understated town in the middle of high...

    It's a quiet, understated town in the middle of high mountains, vast green space and quietness. Accessible from Cape Town and close enough to Hermanus for activities. It has small town charm, but you feel like you're in the country. Not touristy at all. Neat and clean.

    Small peaceful & friendly village in Overberg region, scenic drive from Cape Town. Market and surrounding shops appealing and surrounds make for a great weekend away. Birkenhead is pet friendly, has delicious food & craft beer, fireplace and great views.

    Stanford has quickly risen to my top local stay. The locals are welcoming and there is much to do for those who are looking for adventure. For someone who just wants to rest, it is bountiful in scenic views and tranquility. Great food and fun to be had by all!

    This was our second visit. White Water is beautiful farm close to Stanford. It is quiet and offers more than the average farm stay. The pool is huge and the farmhouse was well appointed and beautifully decorated. It came with 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms. The friendly staff delivers a fresh breakfast basket every morning that contains very nice produce from the area.

    Very comfy little flat with a beautiful garden. Outside table and chairs good for extending the space. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom quite adequate. A block from the main road so easy to walk to shopping and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in Stanford

    We did not have breakfast at the hotel but judging form the donner Im sure it would have been delicious. The hotel had a lovely farm feel with horses in the paddocks and stunning birds. A very beautiful view of the mountains and valley
