We really love the room especially the bed....and the pillows... it's so comfortable that we slept soundly. The toilet and bathroom is so beautiful and clean. Overall the room is so stylish and yet comfortable.

Everything. The hostel doesn't have a social atmosphere but that is exactly what I wanted; I just wanted to rest. The facilities are top notch for a hostel ranging from free laundry (5 ringgit if you buy a cup of detergent from hostel), unlimited access to tea/coffee and the included breakfast which was actually very good. There are enough toilets and showers which are spacious and clean. The location is about 15 min walk to Old Town Ipoh and about 10 min to a market that contains some of the best eateries in the city. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Excellent wifi which made it perfect for my digital nomad lifestyle. Recommended

What a charming place. We were warmly greeted as family and shown to a huge, spotless and magnificent room. Our host’s son in law is the chef who prepared a flawless Char koey tiaw, the essential local dish of noodles fresh bean sprouts and prawns, for our dinner, along with a delicious Lai chi kang, a fruity drink we’ve never sampled before, home made by our hostess. Our hosts took us out to a local Chinese breakfast place to eat like a local and everyone could not have been more congenial! There’s a lovely pool also. The place is a bit isolated outside of town, which makes it a quiet respite from the hubbub of Kota Baru. We had the best sleep of our trip here!

Everything was amazing from the staff to the facility. Mr. Kat was very hospitable and friendly. The place has two cute cats, which is a plus for some people. Even the owner was very humble and friendly with us. The services were very convenient and easy. I highly recommend the place, but I hope all visitors keep the place clean and neat.

It's a small hotel so the personal touch from the owner and staff makes this place stand out from large hotels. The breakfast is wonderful and includes local specialties so overseas guests can try Malaysian food. We had to leave early on our last day (before breakfast starts at 8am) and the owner personally made the breakfast for us at 7:30 before his staff arrived which was very kind because we expected to forego breakfast. The location is in the middle of the island, off the tourist track which we liked, but you will need a car or use Grab to get around.

It is a unique experience to stay at The Blue Mansion and worth every penny. We loved the story of the house (and the guided tour included), the breakfast is excellent and you have everything you need. The bed is very comfortable and the pool is very relaxing.
