Very good hotel, easily accessible from the highway, sparkling clean rooms, warm in winter, free parking on the premises, walking distance from the Figueres historical centre and the important sites (notably the Dali Theatre-Museum and San Ferran Castle). Interesting breakfast, not a buffet one: you are given a choice of set menus to suit your taste (“sweet breakfast”, “salty breakfast”, “healthy breakfast”, “continental breakfast” etc.) and the items are brought to you on a tray. Very organized and ecological, helps avoid the usual buffet excesses. Very polite and helpful reception. The hotel houses the renowned The Motel restaurant, unfortunately we didn’t get to eat there, it’s only open at lunchtime. Generally, excellent value.

It satisfied our needs, a quick one night sleep as a stopover on the road. The staff is nice. The room is bigger than expected. It is basic and clean. We had a good rest! The shower is with very good hot water and could have big water pressure. The cafeteria next to the lobby provides a microwave and some cutlery, easy for people to heat up some light food. And it is so kind of them to offer free coffee corner for 24 hours. And right outside the hotel there are a lot of free public parking spaces.

Canyelles Platja is located on the seafront just outside Roses with direct access to the beach. It has a swimming pool, a restaurant with sea views and free Wi-Fi access.

A lovely self-built wooden building, with some excellent self-built furniture. A shower so good I had to turn down the pressure; really comfortable large double bed. Lovely views outside the windows of the spacious and comfortable guests' common room. Great location for visiting Besalu, which is lovely, and the Garrotxa, an area of beautiful woods and dormant volcanic peaks. The restaurant literally over the road provided excellent food in a very friendly environment. Finally our hostess was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A little jewel, so quiet. At 6 kms there is the sea and the crowded tourists. Peace and quiet here. Beautiful house, tastefully decorated. Everything is organised to bring happiness and relaxation.
