Boutique Hotels in Kolkata

We were wonderfully received by the staff, which had prepared a couple small surprises for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed the pool area, breakfast and gym. The hotel is really close to the airport but the planes didnt bother us at all. There is also a big mall next to it with lots of restaurants, a cinema, and shops. Great place to relax for a few days!

There is a reason why this hotel has got the highest rating in this city. Impeccable services, extremely hygienic, superb hospitality! The staffs are extremely courteous, very helpful. Since we had a late flight, we checked out and kept our luggage in their clock room. We needed things from our luggage multiple times , and the staffs never looked irritated or refused to help each time. They were so helpful. Very prompt response by the housekeeping staff also. We were amazed at the service. The hotel has a very modern look and is super clean. The facilities like the roof top restaurant is a must visit during the winter months. Very calming ambience.

This is the third time I stayed at The Sonnet in the last 4 years. Clearly, I like the place. I do not have that much to add to what I wrote in the previous cases. The Sonnet provides excellent value for money. This is not a 5 star facility but the facilities provided are quite adequate. The last time I was there the place was undergoing renovations. But they seem to have been completed. The swimming pool is open and so is the gym. The rooms are decently sized. My room (501) had a very comfortable double bed, a sofa and a large desk, which was excellent for working. The bathroom is not huge but adequate and the water pressure is great. The breakfast buffet (now served again in the ground floor restaurant following renovations) is quite decent from my perspective; it contains most things most people want. The location right next to City Centre Mall is great and there is ample parking right in front. The staff as in pretty much every place I have stayed at were extremely friendly. I ordered room service one night and the focaccia bread chicken sandwich was a very large serving! To put this in context, during this trip I stayed at three different places n Kolkata, Raakjutir (close to Hyatt Regency), the Westin in Newtown and The Sonnet.

Staff! All went well beyond professionalism and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Bed was good - western rather than Indian standard. Breakfast wonderful. Location prefect.
