We wanted to experience a night in a Ryokan. This structure was amazing and welcomed us in a unique way. Welcome drink (very appreciated given the hot weather) and typical kaiseki dinner served in our room. Everything was perfect.

Lovely Ryokan with a great location in Gion. Excellent service from Kanji-san and the entire team. Highly recommend the Keiseki dinner. And breakfast was such a delight - especially the Yuzu porridge. The ryokan is well maintained with nicely landscaped courtyard gardens and water features. Very charming place.

I loved every single detail at Sakanoue. The room, the bed, the amenities, the breakfast, the location—everything was truly wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive.
