Gomez’s Place is ‘child free’, open-minded, welcoming accommodation located in the northern part of Negombo. After some initial hiccups (poor wifi and cold water) that were quickly resolved by our hosts, the accommodation offered all that was expected in the relative sanctuary from the touristic traps that are the Negombo environs. The rooms are generously sized and very well apportioned (and clean!!!), especially when compared other similarly priced accommodation in Sri Lanka. The rooms also had both aircon and a ceiling fan, which seemed a rare thing in this country. The breakfast was ample and tasty (toast, fruit, coffee, tea, and eggs cooked as you like them), and the pool – while not the biggest – was an absolute godsend. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our host Gomez who helped us with all our requests and enquiries, including arranging airport transfers. Thanks Gomez, you’re a star!

It was amazing!! We had the pool with the sunbeds by the sand or another pool with sunbeds around them! The room was so big and clean! They put chocolates on our bed before we got back at night and the staff were so calm and friendly and helpful! Such a stunning hotel

Everything. From the warm welcome and room upgrade by Kennedy to the amazing F&B staff and products and the all round warmth and kindness from everyone. The best all-round hospitality I've experienced and I travel alot. The room was amazing and had everything you could need (except maybe a bedside lamp). Ground floor so I could walk straight onto the beach and easily access both pools. All rooms are sea facing. I had an incredible Kandyan massage at the Sky Spa and even tried the Seafood restaurant on site, recommended by Arun Lakmal. Literally all the meals, breakfast to dinner, were great. The hotel is sustainably run for the most part and reasonably priced. It's also in the main "fun" road so everything is accessible. Kudos also to the maintenance, security and the lifeguards who all made me feel very taken care of and comfortable. I couldn't ask for a better introduction to Sri Lanka and just 30 minutes from the airport. I genuinely did not want to leave and if I have any cash left after touring the country, this will be my last hotel too.
