This hotel is truly one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The facilities were top-notch—the pool was wonderfully refreshing, and the poolside bar served some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. The gardens were beautifully maintained and full of vibrant plants, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. I’ve never encountered such warm and welcoming service. A special thank you to the lovely lady at reception, who was always cheerful, kind, and incredibly helpful. The on-site spa was also excellent, complete with an indoor pool. I had two treatments during my stay, both of which were absolutely superb. The hotel’s gardens deserve another mention—they were simply breathtaking. I was there for a wedding, and I can confidently say it’s the perfect venue for such a celebration. I stayed in one of the garden rooms, which was unbelievably peaceful and featured an incredible bathroom with a rain shower, handheld shower, and water jets—easily one of the best hotel showers I’ve experienced. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Appreciate specially arranged room upgrade. The staff was super kind and helpful, thanks to each and every one that made our stay memorable. The staff were 10/10. I had an accident in my room which left me bed bound for a full day and an ambulance had to come. All the staff were fantastic especially Carlos. He was a proper gent and deserves a raise.

Amazing, not touched, old architecture with the great understanding of comfort. I truly believe that a great designers who can preserve the old and inhale new elements in the building could make a place an unforgettable gem of the Funchal. Good lack. This hotel is very conveniently situated about a 10 min walk to center. Everything was perfect. Huge room impeccably clean. The pool area was quiet and faced the city with beautiful views to the sea. Plenty of sun beds. Breakfast was a huge choice of food. As adults only very peaceful and quiet. I would rate as a five star hotel rather than 4.
