Has more of a Bed and Breakfast vibe than that of a hotel, but truly excellent! Will definitely come back! A small hint: if you ask on the previous day they will give you a breakfast with more limited options already from 7:30 am (instead of the regular 8:00 am)

Our room was spacious and comfy and the balcony big enough to enjoy the view with a cup of coffee. The staff very friendly and the breakfast very rich and delicious. Also here you could choose to eat inside or outside, on the lake shore, absolutely amazing! It is 5 min walk from the bus stop and in the city centre so walking distance to practically everything. The port is not even 50 m away. Would recommend it!

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. It offers a park with a pool, free WiFi and a limited number of free parking spaces. Stunning interior with the history preserved in the hallways and nice modern comfortable rooms. The restaurant is simply outstanding! Nice interior and surrounded by palmtrees, but what is really extra is the chef, brilliant food creativity! Highest recommendations!
