Nestled in the Chiltern Hills, just north of the River Thames as it winds through Buckinghamshire, The Stag and Huntsman is situated in the picturesque village of Hambleden. It boasts free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Everything was just wonderful at this place. Very beautiful landscape, village and hotel. The antmosphere was very classy and in a very positive way old-fashioned. The Food was just incredibly original English and delicious.

A 10-minute walk from the centre of Great Missenden is the Nag’s Head Hotel, a 4-star 15th century inn. Guests can enjoy contemporary styled interiors, Anglo-French fusion cuisine and free Wi-Fi.

Each en suite room is individually designed, some featuring original wood beams and all boasting modern fittings. Views look out onto the surrounding countryside and the Nag’s Head’s own large garden. Loved this place - being so old it has some quirks like sloping floors and low doorways (which added to the charm). Our beautiful room was above the dining room and at first we thought the noise might be a problem, however we probably had the best sleep of our entire holiday. Outstanding food and atmosphere, and absolutely amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble and every single staff member we dealt with was friendly, helpful and genuine. We stayed 3 nights, but wish we could have stayed longer.
