Re-opened in 2012 after thorough renovations, the Tokyo Station Hotel is registered as an Important Cultural Property and boasts gorgeous rooms in a classical European style. It features a French restaurant and stylish bars, and free WiFi is offered throughout. Its entrance is right next to the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station. The breakfast buffet and the staff escorting and carrying our luggage to the exact place on the platform where we boarded our Shinkansen car. We did not request this service it was just offered. Service was wonderful.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath.

There is a bath for each gender on site and both the female and male baths offer a view of Senso-ji Temple’s Five-storied Pagoda. Love the traditional feel of the inn and the baths. Plus super close to all the sights and public transportation

Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa is a 2-minute walk from Kaminarimon and Sensoji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station is a 5-minute walk away. The hotel offers Japanese-style accommodation with a free private bath and free internet. The friendliest and most welcoming staff you could imagine. We stayed two nights here and enjoyed the traditional setting though I did add an extra layer of padding to my futon bed. The private bath was lovely after a long day and there were icy poles to enjoy afterwards. The breakfast room (not currently serving meals as at Nov 2024 though) has coffee and cute activities like origami. Overall a great stay.

Open from December 2015, Hotel Risveglio Akasaka is located just a 2-minute walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station on the Marunouchi Line. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property and there is a restaurant on-site. I liked everything. The staff was friendly, the room was very clean, somehow modern, the mattress is kinda soft, but I slept very well. The breakfast is indeed limited, but it is nutritious and it is ok in order to start the day. Also, I liked the surroundings, the metro station is very close, and it is connected to a lot of other lines.
