Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Teresa was the best host ever! We liked everything about the place!

We had to check out early on our last day and staff had a to go breakfast ready for us. Close to the village, which was beautiful and a great place for dinner and sunset. Highly recommend staying here.

The staff was Excellent. They went out of their way to help to recommend outstanding restaurants, activities and the happy hour was fantastic to meet other travelers. The location is excellent.

With 400 meters of private sea front, the 5-star property offers spacious rooms all with balcony and views of the Atlantic and the Deserted Islands. Brilliant hotel, absolutely amazing staff, fantastic restaurant with a top class evening menu and fantastic breakfast (fresh orange juice) an incredible selection. A welcome basket in our room and a bottle of bubbles with a hand written welcome note 🙌🏼 Right next to the airport but so quiet and relaxing The salt water sea pool was incredible we loved it and will definitely be back

The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the food was tasty with a good variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The hotel offers great views of the surrounding area, and I enjoyed relaxing by the small but cozy pool. Overall, the facilities and services were good, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay in Madeira.

Set within tropical gardens on Madeira Island, this charming guesthouse features far-reaching sea views and 2 outdoor seawater pools and access to the sea. Incredible location. Breakfast had such a variety of food and delicious! Everyone was so kind! Nice size room as well, shower and tub!
