Staff - Friendly and attentive. There was a lovely lady who remembers us and would check in on us on our stay and breakfast choice.
Location - Pretty convenient. Lots of malls nearby so food and shopping are easily accessible.
Room - Super spacious. The standout is definitely the bathtub - the best ever had!! Interior wise, you can tell this building has been around for a while, which depending on your taste see it as dated or grand. We see it as a plus because we don't see this sort of interior much, and it's a nice change!

The price is high, but you can expect a lot. The hotel rooms were great. You could choose if you prefer to sleep in big comfy western beds or prefered a Japanese futon instead (there were two rooms, so enough space to get the futons out).
Maybe prepare a bit in advance, so that you know what´s going on, because the English introduction at reception is a bit shorter than the Japanese one, but the staff is always really helpful and can answer your questions.
Breakfast and diner were both included and were fantastic. The sushi cook in the evening was so helpful and we tried 2-3 different sort of fish we never had before. And all the other dishes were great, too. Don´t forget to stop in time, so that there is still room for dessert ;o)
The onsen on the roof is wonderful. You have an excellent night view and can see the beautiful harbour area. There is an onsen for women and one for men. First there is a big room where you undress and put your clothes in little baskets. Then there is a shower room followed by a pool, a whirlpool and the lovely onsen.
And if you want to spend around 200 Yen extra, don´t forget to visit the room with the massage chairs. They are amazing.

Wonderful stay with a beautiful sea view!
I had an amazing stay at the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. The sea view room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, making it a great place to clear your mind and just enjoy the moment.
The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, both Japanese and Western styles — a great way to start the day. The staff were kind, helpful, and professional, making the whole experience even more pleasant.
There’s a FamilyMart just downstairs, and even a small spot to grab fresh paper and pens, which I found very thoughtful. Transportation was also convenient — it’s a short walk from the nearest station and close to the harbor area, perfect for sightseeing.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kobe. It’s ideal for those looking for comfort, convenience, and a peaceful atmosphere with a stunning sea view.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious compared to most hotel rooms. We chose the premium room, but it still exceeded expectations. The location is incredibly convenient, being close to quite a few tourist attractions, restaurants, and transportation. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very welcoming.
