Excellent location close to train station and everything happening in Takyama. Welcoming friendly staff at the desk. Fabulous hotel with exceptionally delightful, clean facilities and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds with quality bed linen. Wonderful spa and spa space. Delicious traditional breakfast. Happy hour with generous sake tasting, beer and orange juice. Comfortable dining/sitting area, perfect for meeting others. We enjoyed every minute of our stay for the Autumn Featival in beautiful Takyama. Thank you

Loved everything about this cozy ryokan. The lovely people who run it are so kind. I absolutely loved the Japanese breakfast, and we chose the continental option for our kids. We had the family room which was surprisingly spacious. Also the onsen was a real treat which we took advantage of several times a day. Despite there being a few other guests there it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Would be lucky to stay here again.

Everything! The place is super unique and charming. On one hand you get to stay in very traditional Japanese house with amazing character and art work, on the other hand all facilities are new, clean and comfortable! The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything but still quite and easy to access. The host was very lovely, friendly and helpful. It was very easy and pleasant to communicate.

It’s a single apartment not far from Morning markets. Fab location. Super comfy bed! It’s two levels so if you can’t do stairs, it’s not a good option as bathroom is downstairs. Loved the poem and artwork on walls. Very beautiful And thoughtful ❤️

We absolutely loved this little house. It's tucked away in a side street right off the main road, close to all the main points of interest in town. There were tea, coffee, water, and some small snacks waiting for us on arrival, which was a really nice gesture. All basic toiletries were also provided. We found the beds to be a lot more comfortable than expected, and the bathtub was especially welcome after a long day of walking in relatively low temperatures. The washer/dryer worked perfectly, and the detergent pods were provided. The hosts let us leave our luggage after check-out, which we really appreciated.

I cannot say enough good things about this property, it was amazing from start to finish and far exceeded my expectations. The location for starters is brilliant, right in the historic centre of town and close to everything. The traditional house is gorgeous, even nicer than the photographs and feels very newly decorated, all the detailing is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the house is very well equipped with nice touches like tea/coffee, water in the fridge, lots of toiletries etc. Finally the staff were so friendly and accommodating and we were able to check out slightly later and store our luggage while we waited for our bus. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it for a stay in Takayama!
