This beautiful and very old building is a wonderful place to stay. The town of Mariastein consists basically of an Abbey with a residence, a couple of hotels and restaurants, a farm and a gift shop. It is very peaceful. Our hotel room was spacious with a large bright window and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent with enough food choices to please everyone including vegans and those who eat gluten free. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

Originally a Capuchin monastery dating from the 17th century, Kloster Dornach is only 50 metres from Dornach-Arlesheim Train Station and 12 km from Basel.
