We stayed for over a week and saw an incredible amount of wildlife. Every day we saw something different and amazing whether it was monkeys, a sloth, invertebrates, birds (including toucans, swallow tailed kites, hummingbirds, trogons, woodpeckers, parrots, puffbirds, cuckoos), snakes, frogs. Ron, Val and the team do a really great job of maintaining the hostel and the trails. For such a remote location right in the middle of the rainforest the hostel is extremely well equipped including the kitchen, it looks picturesque, and is comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you want to be truly immersed in nature and see a lot of wildlife.

Such an amazing place, clean, tidy and well kept, surrounded by intense spectacular jungle and wildlife. The most beautiful river a few hundred feet away from the property is perfect for cooling off in and enjoying a revitalising start to the day. There are so many places to see in the surrounding area, with a choice of walks that can test and experienced hiker or let you take in the breathtaking surroundings at a mellow pace. The rooms are super clean and allow you to feel surrounded by the jungle yet give you large, uncluttered and clean personal space. I was made to feel so welcome by the staff and volunteers. The two owners were so interesting, genuine and kind, they really care about your experience, Both of them were so helpful and arranged trips and excursions from Dos Bravos (the town) as well as imparting their experiences of places in the country. Honestly I'm still blown away by my time at Templo Del Tigre, the rich jungle, sunny weather with the occasional tropical down pour, the wildlife, jungle sounds, gold miners and such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay and experience one of the most bio diverse places on the planet. Could not recommend this place more highly.

The best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Dario and Frederica have set up something special here in Dos Brazos, near the Corcovado National Park. Set in the heart of the jungle, in a lovely small Gold Mining village this beautiful guest house is a fantastic place to stay. Great welcome, the most comfortable bed, shower and space of our trip so far. A lovely fresh breakfast, great self catering facilities (but Frederica is a chef and will cook your dinner). Watching the jungle birds from their deck was a true joy. They went out of their way to book us a guide for a day exploring the jungle - a shout out to Jose who was a brilliant tour guide to the jungle. He grew up in the village, was fantastically knowledgeable about animals, history and Costa Rican life. Speaking excellent English. He is also a great artist - get him to show you the furniture he makes. Dos Brazos is also worth a mention such a lovely little village, the residents there welcomed guests so warmly, everyone we met had a smile and hola. Try the homemade ice creams advertised from small house! Perfect treat after a hot walk. La Casita means little house, but this is a little house with a big heart thanks to Dario and Frederica’s love and attention to detail. The history of the place is amazing: a gold rush time village bar, that used to have also a brothel and jail (now restroom and shower). Suzanne has created a very cozy place with a wide common area and different sorts of accommodations. It was fun talking and sharing experiences with her aswell as other visitors. The place has a nice wibe and Blue Morpho butterflies flying in the yard. We went on Matapalo and night tours with Shanny - they were both a great experience.

This place truly felt like home. We were able to experience the essence of Costa Rica, thanks to Lis and Danger, who treated us with such warmth throughout our stay. Very nicely embedded wooden house with all comforts near Puerto Jimenez. Owner (surfing teacher) super nice took us for a short hike in the jungle at Malapolo at no cost. He gave lots of info of what was possible.
