He helped arrange tuk-tuks, shopping, and even welcomed me into his beautiful village. That day will stay with me. Chuti’s cooking is out of this world — soulful curries cooked to perfection. Asanka, Cha, and the rest of the team are warm, intuitive, and quietly brilliant. Returning to your cottage feels like the fairies have been — everything clean, calm, and glowing. It’s the kind of place that makes you breathe deeper, sleep better, and believe in the goodness of people again. I travel a lot. I’m extremely picky. And I can say — from Monte Carlo to Mauritius — this is in my top three stays anywhere in the world. The Cottage is family, nature, care, and calm wrapped into one unforgettable experience. It's a great place to start or end your stay in beautiful Sri Lanka. Only 30 minutes away from the busy airport, you arrive through a beautiful alley of mangrove trees to be greeted by the great team of Ging Oya. Imasha, Romesh, Nilantha and all the other staff make you feel right at home. The food is freshly prepared and tastes great. The pool is clean, large and a nice way to cool down. If you like nature and some quiet time, you should definitely plan to stay at Ging Oya. I know, I will again next time!

Everything! We stayed in the peacock villa. It was incredibly comfortable and homely. The view of the river was spectacular and we especially loved the private pool. We had dinner on our terrace both nights, overlooking the river. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was all exceptional with an authentic Sri Lankan taste. The staff in particular made our stay especially enjoyable. They were always available to help and did everything with a smile. Lahiru and Hasaranda (sorry not sure how to spell it) really looked after our every need during our stay. It was my birthday and they made everything feel so special- they decorated the villa with happy birthday decorations and even sang happy birthday with a cake for me! The owner Mark was also incredibly welcoming and lovely. I would come back in a heartbeat. Claire

Villa Taprobane is a fantastic place to stay near Negombo airport. Sharmila and her husband are the most gracious hosts, so helpful with travel tips. The villa is a charming, old-style place in a quiet, green area, just a short tuk-tuk ride from the airport. Breakfast was great, and they even lent us bikes to explore the beach. We loved it and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

What a place to acclimatise from the UK into the Sri Lankan weather and pace of life. We stayed for two nights. From the very much appreciated complimentary pickup from the airport, to the happy friendly team lead by Nishantha Fernando delicious fresh and tasty Sri Lankan and European choices all cooked and seasoned beautifully. The gardens are kept immaculately and are beautiful for an early morning wander watching the birds, we enjoyed the pool which was a perfect temperature, I would not hesitate to recommend that you stay here.i believe that this villa has only come on to the hotel market but as the staff are all experienced we encountered no problems at all. Don’t hesitate if you’re wondering about booking as I am pleased I booked.

One bedroom villa was spacious and very clean. River view is second to none. Also this place is kids friendly and swimming pool is beautiful. Main highlight is dinner and breakfast. It’s very delicious. Highly recommend this place.

The lady was very nice and welcoming, as I was facing some issues in my travel, she tried to help. The dinner was also incredibly good, healthy and tasty. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet. Bed is very comfortable. I had a very good time there.
