The guest house is in a perfect location for the Balcony walk. It is on the doorstep of the start of the walk. The food we had for both meals was lovely. We were nervous about driving to the accomodation as we didn’t have a 4*4. We arranged for a transfer from Al Hamara which is 1 hour away for 50 OMR return. This was well worth it. The driver was on time and drove safely. He also pointed out some sights and stopped off at a gorgeous coffee shop en route :)

Homeed and his brother were excellent hosts and made our experience in Oman the best possible, their hospitality and knowledge of the area to guide us was outstanding and I recommend this experience for anyone looking to visit Jabel Shams, the canyon walk and the wadi’s.

The host was incredibly kind and always available to help with anything we needed, which made us feel truly welcome. The house itself is perfectly located, just a short distance from Jabel Shams and the famous Balcony Walk—a fantastic base for exploring the area. A special mention goes to Homeed, who is an exceptional local guide. He took us on an amazing 4x4 tour of the canyon, sharing his knowledge and passion for the region. The experience was absolutely breathtaking, and his prices were very reasonable. I strongly recommend Jabel Shams Bayt Kawakib to anyone looking for a warm, well-located place to stay and an authentic adventure in the area. Would definitely return!

Amazing location, right at the beginning of W6 trail and very quiet at night. Beautiful area to enjoy a barbecue/bonfire. You can get a optional breakfast and dinner on site which was very delicious. House was large with 2 bedrooms and huge kitchen/dining area.

We really enjoyed our stay: the traditional architecture of the house is stunning, and the rooms and facilities were extremely clean and comfortable. Lack of wifi was not perceived as a minus, but as a plus: it's a great choice to make visitors focus on the surrounding beauties and live a more authentic experience (eg by stargazing and gathering on the private fireplace). The staff has been very friendly and helpful. Finally, the location is very convenient as it's close to many of the most important trails and viewpoints of the area.

We were warmly welcomed by Ali and Amjad. The property was very clean and comfortable. There is a well-equiped kitchen. Bring sufficient food as the nearest shops are a 30 minute drive away. The road is very winding and night driving wouldn’t be advised. The guest house is a convenient 40 minute drive to the W6 Balcony Canyon Walk. Absolutely wonderful location at the start of the W6 Balcony walk. This accommodation is exceptional in providing absolute privacy as it is a private dome tent at the up end of the road, secluded from other properties. The place has AC, comfortable bed, indoor and outdoor seating to watch sunrise, private bathroom, refrigerator and kettle to make tea or coffee, and there is a private parking. From the tent there is an amazing view on the W6 balcony walk and to the canyon/valley. The accommodation also offer amazing home-made cooked breakfast and dinner with an option to eat at nearby cafe or in the tent.
