We enjoyed the onsen with wonderful mountain and sea views as well as an ice cream gift after bathing! The host allowed us to drop off our luggae early which freed us to stroll around the temple nearby and the rest of Atami, all of the host’s recommendations! My friends and I used the common area often as it was filled with natural light and windows across the entire span of the room. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay!

Highly recommend the outdoor one, although I would book any room at Soki Atami again when I have the chance

The property is allergy-free and is located 49 km from Gero Station. Good location (~15min walking from the train station) and right next to the coziest streets of Takayama. The hotel and room were both heart warming, and great place to stay.

I just stayed one night, everything was perfect, close to the station, the staff was super kind and they helped me with the Takkyubin service to send my luggage to the next hotel. Although books are mostly in Japanese but the cafe vibes are nice and cozy.. and most importantly it’s near to the airport limousine pickup bus stop . I will surely book this boutique hotel again for my next trip to Nagoya.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They gave a helpful tour of the place on arrival. The common space was clean and had lots of books to read or couches to relax on. The dormitory had lots of room with good curtains for your bed for privacy.
