Nine Skies is the definition of boutique luxury. It is a small hotel with only 5 rooms and the service we received from all the staff was truly so personable this really felt like a home away from home. The design of the whole hotel is beautiful with a wonderful living room, with a cosy fire in the evenings, and our suite room was beautiful with a terrace. The pool has an amazing view over the tea plantation. All the meals we had were delicious. Our host was very friendly and helpful, organising day trips for us and setting up our own table with lots of candles for dinner by the pool one evening, and also set up our own private breakfast at a look out point which were both lovely experiences. This hotel is brilliant if you want a very quiet, secluded spot in the Hill Country with excellent service and food. It is an expensive hotel but it is worth the money.

The location is perfect — it feels like you’re tucked away in the jungle, surrounded by nature and total peace, yet you’re only a short stroll from town, cafes, and everything you need. That balance between seclusion and convenience is hard to find, but this place nails it. The family who runs it make the stay extra special. The mother who prepares breakfast is absolutely adorable — she cooks with such care, and her warm smile makes every morning brighter. The breakfasts themselves are delicious, fresh, and generous. The owner is a great bloke too — kind, genuine, and always ready to help with tips, directions, or just a good chat. If you want a stay in Ella that feels authentic, welcoming, and beautifully set in nature without being far from the action, Wood Palace is the perfect choice. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

The Liyon Hotel was an excellent experience for my family. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very cleanly kept. The bathroom was clean and large, and the mini fridge in the room proved useful. The breakfast provided to us was exceptional and delicious. The hospitality of the hotel owner was commendable. The package is worth a lot more than what we paid, with such a good room and food for a very low price!

This place has been a great discovery on our visit to Sri Lanka, a place to remember. The landscape surrounded by mountains and rice fields, the sunset, the cabins, the very friendly and close staff, Nana (the restaurant manager) and the people who worked with him, the quietness and tranquility of the place. And especially the food, my husband and I are lovers of gastronomy and in this place we have enjoyed flavors, the quality of nearby and local food and a formidable chef. We had a massage at the Spa and it was really good. Although this experience would not have been the same without the attention and care of Saduni, her treatment, help and attention at all times were excellent as well as the ability to solve and manage when we needed it. She has been a great gift.

The experience at Andriyala was truly wonderful. Room was very comfortable and pleasant and the garden was beautiful and made the place feel calm and peaceful, with a quiet atmosphere throughout. Also the breakfast was delicious and so filling that lunch wasn’t even needed. The property was very clean and well looked after. A special thanks to the manager Mr. Shenon and all the staff for their friendliness and care, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
