HungaryWoodall Country lodge has exceeded our expectations, honestly. Hidden in Addo and close to Addo elephant park, you reside on citrus farm, enjoying spacious rooms with the option of interior and exterior shower. The interior has been managed with love and dedication by the owners, one example which makes South Africa so special. Freddie, the friendly hotel manager arranges everything for you, the parking, the check in, the breakfast and dinner. When he recognized that we were interested in the birds at the breakfast veranda (weaver birds, red bishops, ducks, kingfishers) he arranged a breakfast table directly under the weaver tree. For dinner he played the piano and accompanied the excellent food (lamb shank) with a bottle of South Africa red wine. We never will forget about this unexpected experience.

Today Hitgeheim is larger but just as special. Beautiful rooms with private balconies where you can see for miles in the valley below. The mini bar is stocked to perfection and there are snacks so you can linger in your room as long as you like. The pool has an amazing view also, as does the restaurant. Dinner was absolutely superb.
