The location is perfect for exploring Matera, and the valet service made everything effortless. We left our car at their partner parking and were picked up directly, which made the whole arrival experience smooth and stress-free. Even though the hotel is relatively new, it feels like it has been welcoming guests for many years. That is a true credit to the management and the entire team, who were warm, professional, and made us feel so well looked after. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were delicious, and the whole atmosphere was romantic and unforgettable. Relais & Châteaux should be very proud to have Vetera Matera in their collection. We are already looking forward to coming back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The 5-star Santavenere Hotel offers a fully equipped wellness centre, swimming pools, 3 restaurants and a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. It is in Maratea, just 250 metres from its own private beach. Everything was perfect. So much space everywhere… beach, lounges, restaurant…etc. Azure sea.. heaven for swimming. No shortage of umbrellas and sun beds. A delight for visitors exhausted by the mass of tourists elsewhere. A real oasis of peace and tranquillity. All staff incredibly helpful and discrete. We stayed only 2 nights but I would go back any time for a longer stay. It was the highlight of our journey though Campania and Calabria. Thanks so very much.

Regiacorte is one of the most elegant and refined restaurants in Matera. A stunning Lounge Terrace enjoys spectacular views of Piazza San Pietro Caveoso and the beautiful rock church of the Madonna dell'Idris. Incredible service in incredible hotel. It really is not just another hotel. Highly reccomend!
