We had a wonderful time at "The Wayside and Whiskey Barn" in Whitbeck. Our host Emiko was super efficient, professional and knowledgeable. She was so welcoming and friendly. There was also Doreen the lovely helper. We had great chats and laughs 😃 The place: Charming, so clean and impeccably maintained. I couldn't believe the attention to details such as the bedding and fluffy robes and slippers. The food. One word: delicious 😋 😜 😍 😀 Everything is sourced locally and cooked 🍳 fresh by Emiko. I can't wait to return hopefully next year. Look at the photos and honestly 😍 If you want a good time out of this world book ...If you appreciate Whiskey, well no better place to go.

An idyllic cottage setting with views over Coniston Old Man and fells surrounding. Gorgeous village and church fab for those summer evening walks. Loved the space of the cottage and it had a nice feel about it. The garden was great for the views and just to sit and enjoy.

The Lodge was amazing value. It was warm, cozy, and very clean. It also has everything you could possibly need for a stay away from home. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing on a cold November evening. The location is perfect for visiting surrounding towns and exploring. Lovely peaceful, quiet and scenic location. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful stay and also a hello to the resident cat who paid us a visit.

Everything! it was the perfect location for us as we were visiting Ulverston. the lodges are spaced widely apart from one another so you get a lot of privacy, but still offers you spectacular views to look out upon on the decking and even when you’re in the hot tub! We loved the little touch of the lodge leaving a book for guests to write in during their stay. It was lovely to read guests recommendations for the area and to mention that they have stayed more than once! (We can see why). Lots of space throughout the lodge, from the bathrooms to the living area. It was the perfect size for us as 4 adults to comfortably live alongside each other without being in someone else’s way for a change 🙈 We will most certainly come here to stay again. My parents just told me to make it a longer stay next time 😅🥰

A well appointed, clean and modern hotel. Exactly as I would expect a hotel to be. Although an old building that I remember from my childhood it has obviously been completely renovated and the rooms are modern and clean. The food is excellent and the breakfasts superb.

Hotel was just great, quite which we like, modern. Totally dog friendly, the staff were so accommodating. We did only book an economy double which was in the roof space so wouldn't do that again, would definitely opt for a normal room without the sloping ceiling. We ate and drunk in the bar. Food was superb, I had the battered haddock and chips absolutely beautiful, the chips were something else. We will definitely be returning only 1 mile walk to the beach so location is perfect with a dog.

This is a very good quality hotel and though not modern has been renovated to a very high standard. The room was very comfortable and the restaurant food was first class and cooked to perfection. The staff were all courteous and helpful, all in all a great hotel with free parking.

An interesting and excellent quality hotel with character in a central location. Free parking across the road and an easy walk into town. The staff were helpful, professional and friendly. An older, traditional building that has been sympathetically modernized, including a nicely fitted-out bar, used by residents and locals, with discreet background music, a nice selection of local brews and a good atmosphere.
