It was a beautiful setting and the safari tents and recreational areas were really comfortable and blended in so well with the surroundings. The experience feels very special, authentic to the local area, and not flashy. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind and genuine. They went the extra mile at every turn. The plunge pool outside our tent was such a refreshing and welcome feature. We loved the breakfast and meals, and had such a memorable stay that our family won’t forget! Special mention to Bandara and his team for wonderful hospitality and food. Big thanks and kudos to our leopard spotting guide Dinesh (spelling?) and our super safe driver/guide. We had a wonderful trip to Yala National park and Tribe Yala made the whole experience even more memorable.

Such a peaceful, beautiful setting and the accomodation and food was superb for a camp setting, 5 star dining under the trees and stars. Staff were delightful and so happy to assist with anything and their knowledge of the area and its flora & fauna were exceptional. Highly recommend!!

We had a great stay in this camp before safari in Yala. Having delicious dinner under the stars with lights and bonfire and afterwards - sleeping in a big, comfortable tent surrounded by forest night life sounds made this experience unforgettable!

We stayed at the leopards nest for 1 night and it truly was an unforgettable experience. After reading some mixed reviews, it exceeded our expectations and I am so happy we planned this into our itinerary. The hotel sent driver information which we shared with our driver and everything was seemless. The safari truck was waiting for us and we did the afternoon safari. The guy was great, really knowledgeable- we were lucky enough to see elephants really close up and many other amazing animals. He then took us to the hotel around 6pm. We had a bbq dinner which was very cute, the food was really good quality too. We booked a sky nest and had a couple of little frog visitors in the bathroom but we didn’t mind, they added to the memories! The sky nest was really clean and more comfortable than we were expecting. WiFi only worked in the main restaurant areas but that’s okay, it was nice to be off the grid for one night. Again, breakfast exceeded our expectations and the hotel liaised with our driver for a smooth pick up. The staff are lovely and I fully recommend for one night if you want a safari and jungle glamping experience.

location is very nice in the middle of the forest, the tents are nice and well equipped, dinner was great. staff is super professional. very well organized safari. do not get tricked by people outside who are trying to sell you safari while you are getting to the eco camp if you are taking Tuk-Tuk or car in the city.

At the borders of the national park, you already feel part of nature and its wonders. With that said, crew is treating you like their wonders. We also took the safari which was a very good combination, taking into account that the staff and guidance was very professional on that part too. It was the complete, very well arranged, full swing safari experience. Accommodations and the friendliest staff will make you feel extra special.

We were warmly welcomed from the very start by the incredible team. They did everything they could to give us a memorable stay, from the delicious food (best we had in Sri Lanka and very generous portions), the impeccable service, informative safari and excellent facilities and special touches (star gazing from the impressive viewing platform). Communication was excellent and we really felt so well looked after and had such a special time at Makini Bush Camp. We were so sad to leave and would definitely come back and would recommend to anymore!
