I’m writing this for the benefit of those who are thinking about booking and reading posts that seem to comment without understanding what Wachakyta is about. It scored 10 because the whole experience was brilliant. Where else in the world can you spend the night on a deserted beach, with a chef, a bar, unlimited water, coffee tea etc etc? There is also free wifi (which didn’t always work when you were away from the main area). But you have to realise you are in a beach hut. You’ll get critters, wind, the sound of the sea and everything nature has. Sure, you’ll also have a comfortable bed, good quality sheets (and a mozzie net) so it’s not without some creature comforts. The prices charged for food and drink were perfectly fine given everything (including you!!) has to be delivered by boat. And the food is cooked to order… they will come to find you about two hours before lunch or dinner and you make your selection and choose the time. The boat, by the way, is a separate business but you’ll get details on how to book and as someone who speaks only a little Spanish, the whole process was done by what’s app. They picked us up at 4.20 on the Wednesday exactly as promised. And that, my friends, is our summary. This is a get away from the world place. Enjoy nature, wildlife, the sun, the stars and escape.

To anyone wishing to book a bed and breakfast that feels like home, then definitively book La Casa Nordica! Incredible home cooked breakfasts with the possibility to also have dinner there (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, best food we had in Colombia), the hosts are extremely welcoming and made us feel like home. It has a family feel to it and do not hesitate to share with Patricia and her family, wether it be music or stories, they will also have many to share! A truly great stay, do not let the neighborhood disuade you!

Location location location. Took about 2.5 hours to walk in from El Zaino enterance, 2 hours hiking 1/2hr pics, breaks, photos. I was in a hammock for two nights, personally I sleep well in hammocks so no issues aside from forgetting a long sleeve top for the evening sleep. Definitely gets a bit chilly be prepared! Staff is super! Wifi was solid within the area it was available to. Bathrooms clean. And margaritas were perfect. Breakfast was standard. A Quick walk to a beach or 4. Lol. If u don't tolerate sun well, I'd suggest an umbrella for shade no matter were you wander to.

I loved it here! The host Alejandro was so welcoming, the tents super comfy and the food was great as was the company:) The tent was really luxurious with a lot of space, a comfy mattress, and a great location, facing the ocean with an ocean view, sleeping to the sound of the waves. The stretch of beach is wonderful and only for guests. Swimming is not possible but it’s a beautiful view and a lot of space to walk. The whole area around this place is like a little piece of paradise☺️

I absolutely loved Chunuu! It was easy walking distance to town (& you don’t have to climb any hills!). The staff were really helpful & friendly. There are so many nice places to relax around the property, even when it was busy on the weekend you could find somewhere quiet to relax.

Loma Nevada Minca Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and shared lounge in Minca.
