Safari Experience: Our guide, Alan, was knowledgeable and great with the kids. The safari itself exceeded expectations, offering unforgettable moments with the wildlife. Campfire Evenings: Gathering around the campfire in the evenings was a memorable experience. The sounds of hyenas and wildlife in the mornings made it feel even more magical. Warm Hospitality: The overall vibe of the camp made us feel at home and added a personal touch to the experience. Warm Layers: We ended up purchasing some lovely traditional blankets from Alan to stay warm in the chilly August mornings, which was a nice keepsake.

Right next to the talek gate, greenwood is a very nice place to stay if you plan to do game drives in the Maasai. The owner is super friendly and all the staff members will treat you very well with a lot of flexibility. The food is amazing and the rooms are super comfortable and clean with WiFi and hot water.

Extra facilities include a 24-hour front desk, meeting rooms, a tour desk and housekeeping service. I can’t even explain how happy we are with our stay in Talek Bush camp. We booked it at the very last minute and I was not sure what to expect as we never slept in this kind of safari tent before. Everyone was so nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The tents were really specious and with enough space in between to provide some comfort and privacy. We arrived just before dinner time around 19 o’clock and we were served the food immediately. We stayed for two nights and both dinners were delicious and with a lot of vegetarian options. For the two days, we had our breakfast and lunch packed and we had a picnic inside the park while watching the wildlife around. It was just magical. The location is perfect just outside the Talek gate, so you don’t have to travel a lot early in the morning to enter the park. We had a problem with the guide that we booked before our arrival and we ended up having no guide for the next day at 22 o’clock. We called the owner Mustafa late in the evening, asking him if he could help us somehow. He not only picked up the phone despite the late hour but he also arranged a guide for us immediately and it turned out to be the best experience we had so far. Our new guide did the impossible to find us all of the big cats and we even saw all the big five in one single day in the park. if you happen to be there on Friday night they also have a cultural night around the campfire with Masai people explaining about their culture and dancing. We would be very happy to come back again if we have the chance. Just a perfect stay.

Sitting on a shady raised platform facing the Talek river, each luxury tent covers approximately 26sqm and is fitted with a queen size bed or 2 twin beds. It is furnished in the classic style of the grand African safaris; with large four poster beds and reproduction furniture, offset by modern en-suite bathroom with a hot shower; flush toilets and all the necessary amenities. Amazing location, hospitality, food, game drives, & arrangements. We had our best time on vacation. Will definately be back once more. Thank you Mara Intrepids for making our time so special. Loved every moment of our stay.

From the very first email with Lea to Sammy and the team at the camp including our game drive guides, which we booked directly via Kobe Mara - again, a huge ASANTE SANA for making our Masaai Mara trip so memorable! The place is just utterly beautiful! Seeing a zebra, and giraffes right from our tent was such a wondrous experience. All the details of the tent were highly appreciated as well! It felt like being in a movie… Furthermore, the food - especially the fish on a bed of spinach cream and side of mash… It all tasted like “coming home”. You do have your own kitchen too if you prefer. The team on site are always there to help if anything. Easily one of our top favourite stays ever - Highly recommended! <3

Small (3 tents, one of which is a large family tent), intimate, charming camp, unfenced, ideally located, in the north conservancy, just 5 minutes from the Maasai Mara’s Musiara gate entrance, 15 minutes from the air strip. Completely local ownership and management, which we highly value and one of the reasons we chose this, together with the location and the small size. We had tent 3, high on stilts, large, private, wooden floors, huge netted windows, outside deck all around, unobstructed views on the savannah. Big comfortable bed with good mattress, en-suite bathroom with toilet and huge shower, running water. Electricity and hot water are solar - electricity is around the clock, so maybe the camp tops it up at night with a generator, but we never heard one. Large, charming traditional mess tent, with bar area, and extra lounge, wonderful outdoor deck with fire pit, small plunge pool with deck chairs. Food was excellent, they will apparently cater to dietary needs but have a fixed menu. Most meals in the mess tent, some scenically set in the bush. All drinks were included as was daily laundry. Highly knowledgeable and dedicated guides (William the owner, and Alex), game drives were mostly inside the park and arranged as and when we wished, with picnic breakfast and/or lunch, or not, as we wished. Park fees were included which made the offer we got superb value for money. We had been on safari several times almost 4 decades ago when luxury safaris were mobile or semi-permanent tented camps, small, unfenced, only with simple drop toilets and hot bucket showers, communication only via radio, bush cooking, communal mess tent and fire pit… but with an abundance of local staff delivering perfect, exclusive service. That’s the feeling we were looking for again and this is the closest we found on our trip to Kenya: very similar traditional, exclusive safari feeling , experience and charm, with great service, modern comforts, but no excesses and low imprint.
