I loved the hostel! The staff was very helpful and kindly assisted us in some health issues we had to resolve. The garden is wonderful, we would say that is the most beautiful garden we have seen in a hostel. The kitchen is very equipped and the comum area is a nice cozy place to enjoy the stay and meet others guests and experience Puerto Varas in a unforgettable way.

Had an amazing 5-night stay at Compass del Sur - the staff were always friendly and welcoming, and assuredly accommodating with my meager Spanish abilities. Breakfast was homemade and delicious; one day they were making the strawberry marmalade in the kitchen and the house smelled like grandma's! The house is clean and appears to have ample options for private rooms. They also offer reasonable rates for transportation to Puerto Montt Airport. I didn't have the time to try any of the many advertised excursions on the chalkboard by the front desk; I suppose it's just another reason to return here when I travel to Puerto Varas!

Basic but comfortable stay. Friendly and helpful owners and one of the more affordable stays in Puerto Varas. Not very central but you can still walk to the centre. Was able to use the kitchen and the breakfast was left out extra time, very nice.

Cinthya and friendly, helpful family members run this large hostel. A large gathering dining room is a fun place to meet other travelers. You have access to the kitchen but without cooking appliances – which doesn’t make sense. A shared kitchen must have a stove – not only a microwave. Wonderful gas heaters in the rooms provided relief from the cold summer temperatures – just make sure the pilot light doesn’t go out or it could be dangerous in a closed room.
