We were warmly greeted my our hosts at The Fairhaven Country Guest House. The guest house is easy to find and is in an ideal location for exploring the region. This is an exceptionally spacious guest house. The luxury of having a large and comfortable guest lounge room was a nice touch and we could enjoy relaxing after our day out. For breakfast we were spoilt for choice with a delicious selection of cereal, yogurt or cooked options. It was a bonus to have secure off street parking and good wifi. The hosts were helpful with their local knowledge of places to visit or have a good meal.

Built in 1603, Ruswarp Hall - Whitby is an adult only guesthouse situated in the village of Ruswarp by the River Esk, bordering the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

What can I say but... FANTASTIC! There is absolutely nothing to fault with this marvellous B&B. Linda is the perfect host, such a lovely, helpful lady. We had a most memorable visit and stay in Whitby. We chose to walk into Whitby each day and leave our car at the B&B. Linda showed us an easier route to walk there. Went to the Abbey (YHA cafe, within the Abbey grounds, is ideal for a quick bite). Whitby is a pretty 'Olde Worlde Towne'. Lots to do and see.   We also enjoyed our visit to Goathland (Aidensfield in TV's Heartbeat). Get there early before the steam train arrives but even then, when there was more people, it was manageable. There are some walks around Goathland, so wear good footwear if you want to do that activity. Unfortunately the pub (Aidensfield Arms) was closed but there is a tea room where the little shops are.
