Best location,inside the old town but without the noisy streets above your head. 1 minute walk from restaurants, bars and small stores. We fot everything in our room start with microwave/big refrigerator/oven/dtove/ washing machine, even small cabinet of pharmacy stuff and first aid. Beautiful premises, gorgeous view. Good fresh air. Thomas was extremely forthcoming and helpful. Treated us with a welcome drink and watermelon in the morning. We stayed in a room for five. Simple but spacious and clean.

Great location, really close to beach (3 minutes) and bus stop where buses to downtown go every hour. You can still walk to downtown along the beach, for 30 minutes, it is a pleasant one. A great selection of stray cats to pet on the patio. Kitchenette was handy to cook something simple, can use air conditioner or leave air pass through metal shutters which are common in Rethymno.

We booked at the Costas Inn at the last minute, when we realized we made a silly mistake and had booked our originally planned hotel for the wrong night. Oops! But what a happy mistake it was. We were welcomed so warmly. It felt like we knew the owners for years. The rooms are great, AC is cold, nice view from balcony. 2 The town of Spili is super nice, and well located close to major attractions (eg 20m drive to Preveli) Would love to come back and spend a week next time.
