The location was remote and absolutely beautiful with stunning views of the mountains. There were horses in the pasture, sheep greeted us on the drive in and a mama bird was nesting on her eggs along the gravel road to the property. The neighbors had posted a stake in the ground to announce her presence and protect her from traffic. All this peace, yet we were very close to the main road and less than 5 minutes to the town of Hella where we picked up groceries and went out to dinner. Svetlana and her husband are absolutely lovely people. She had a Ukrainian speciality waiting for us on the table in the kitchen when we arrived, a plateful of the most delicious treats- like a cross between an American pancake and love. She offered to show us how to make this on the morning we checked out, bringing us into her kitchen and sending us on our way with a plateful of warm goodies and great stories we will remember. Her husband was equally charming and we would love to have talked to both of them for days. If you love dogs, be sure to ask to meet Stella. She's a good girl!

We booked this last minute and were super surprised how nice and affordable it is. Location is 3min out of town with a pleasant view of a river. Rooms are nicely decorated. Beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and staff was very kind and helpful.

I don’t understand the low score. What more could you want than super easy checkin, proper kitchen and dining tables, clean bathrooms and cosy rooms? Compared to everything else available, this was great value. Me and my son loved this place.

The self-service check in was very smooth and the instructions sent by the owner explained everything clearly. The room and facilities were clean and the atmosphere is very homey. Highly recommended for someone looking for a place to spend one night or so in the middle of their icelandic adventures.
