THE TEAM: - Massimo is very kind. He met me at the entrance, helped me with the luggage, and above all offered me a room upgrade to a much larger and nicer room without an extra charge. He offered me late checkout again for no extra fee. The whole stay felt very relaxed (Grazie mille Massimo). - Signora Maria the home keeper, she saw me working on my laptop, so surprised me with freshly squeezed juice, and fresh sliced fruits. (Grazie tanto cara ❤️) THE LOCATION: Scilla has 2 parts. 1. The Chianalea although houses are beautifully located literally on the sea (I stayed there before), the area is difficult to reach if you have large luggage. 2. Lungo mare (where La Balza is located) on the other hand is very easy to access just a flat 5 min walk from the train station. There’s San Francisco bar right outside the building for breakfast, the fishermen port is steps away, and finally the elevator that takes you to the città superiore is literally steps from the unit. THE ATMOSPHERE: I came to Scilla to relax and finish writing a book and the place was perfect for it. The common area has large windows right on the sea. If you’re coming for the beach, again it’s the perfect place right on the beach. Daily cleaning service is included

We had no idea what we were in for here. Not even sure we’d arrived at the place we’d booked. Until we met our host, Beppe, who embraced us like long lost family and made us feel right at home in his family-run hotel and amazing restaurant. We can’t speak highly enough for his professionalism, his family, his staff, his service, and his warm welcome. The food he so passionately serves and was so far beyond our expectations I can’t describe. And he was so generous and gracious in providing for my partner’s needs as a vegetarian too. I highly recommend Beppe’s La Braceria Calabrese and cannot wait to return. Thank you for the surprising and delicious lunch too, Beppe 😎🙏👌

Wonderful apartment, three minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the train station. Antonello (the owner) is incredible, told us where the best places to have lunch are, where to go to see the surrounding area, to the neighboring villages, to Sicily. The room is clean, everything works, there is a small refrigerator.

Excellent location in the heart of old town Scilla. Very nice and functional room. Surprisingly great water pressure. There are beach umbrellas available to borrow. You get a breakfast voucher for the breakfast with the absolute best view in town. Yes, the rooms are basic (but so are you if you think that’s a reason to lower your rating ;-) ). Room comes with a little balcony where you can hang your beach stuff to dry. Early check-in was possible. Absolute great value for money!

I had a fantastic stay, Filly was an amazing host and made me feel very welcomed! A lovely, homely feeling accomodation, everything was clean with a kitchen/dining/lounge area to use also. I was able to keep my bicycle safe in the secured courtyard too.
