The property was very comfortable and the facilities were great. The owners were also very attentive and helpful. The location was good, only a 15 minute walk to Iwatake Mountain. We really enjoyed our stay!

The cottage was beautiful and in immaculate condition. It was really cosy and had great facilities. The hosts, Takashi and Miki, were lovely, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had a wonderful week in Hakuba and would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely love love loved our stay at Minamiya!!! We are from Sydney. We loved the small cosy traditional Japanese Ryokan setting. With public bath areas and onsens (indoor and outdoor) for free or if you want a little bit more privacy, an option of 60mins at their private onsen with sauna for a small fee. Trust me, you will love the onsens after a hard day on the slopes. We had a room with private toilet, it is super spacious and comfy. But don't be afraid to stay at a room with shared toilets too, they are all kept very clean and cosy. Staffs were amazing. Always polite, always ready to help. Don't be afraid to ask for help :) (when in doubt, just use Google translate) Our stay has been very peaceful and quiet too, with our "neighbours" being predominantly Japanese families. Bonus points for their association with the cat cafe which is literally less than 1 minute walk away. If you are a cat/animal lover you have to visit! We did have a car when we were there and there were plenty of parking spots at the accommodation. But don't worry if you haven't got a car either, there are shuttles available right outside the Ryokan. Highly highly recommend (as much as I want to gatekeep hahah). Minamiya is for everyone that want the real Japow experience (a peaceful and chill one)!
