Excellent, clean facilities and great value for money.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor.

The hosts are very lovely. They have bbq facility on site (1500 yen fee) which I highly recommend! It’s nice to have outdoor bbq. However, keep in mind that you will need to bring your own ingredients. To access this accomodation you will require a car as it is a bit far from the downtown.

Charming place, very clean, quiet, beautifully located, run by outstandingly helpful Mika. We stayed two days in the room overlooking the street which - during a rainy day - kept us watching the beautiful view and people passing by. This is a beautiful home in an amazing location. It really exceeded our expectations in every way. The level of detail put into the construction of the building is a work of art.
