If there were an 11/10 I would give it to this place, it was amazing :) from the super friendly staff (always ready to help out or give recommendations for the city) to the clean and spacious facilities. The bedroom were perfectly structured and you have a pretty big closet where you can store a lot of things and lock it with a key (same for the bedroom). Also laundry is available for just 200 yen. The common area is very cozy and nice, with a real guesthouse atmosphere and traditional Japanese seatings surrounded by board games and books for your comfort and entertainment. You can also rent a bike and you have free fresh towels everyday, as well as all toiletries. I absolutely enjoyed the breakfast, both the normal one (free) with fresh fruits, bread, jam, yogurt and orange juice (tea and coffee always available) and the Japanese one for the additional price of 800 yen (worth it every penny) with a fish, rice, seaweed, vegetables and delicious miso soup. I want to thank again the staff for 3 amazing nights and I am sure I will stay there again if I ever go back to Kyoto :)

I really enjoyed my stay here! Location is in a residential area, making it a quiet respite after a whole day of sightseeing, while still being conveniently close to the center. Breakfast was also tasty and kindly brought into the room daily. Emiko-san and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. She even gave me a ride to Kyoto Station on my last day and always checked on me daily to see how I was. Very kind family. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Amazing location, in Gion, close to transportation but also very quiet with lots of great restaurants. We stayed in villa 1 with a deep ceramic bath. The Machiya is well stocked with a simple kitchen and microwave for breakfast. Love the little walk down to Tatsumi bridge and river (less than 100m) Familymart is 100m away and laundry service 2min walk. Staff were lovely and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this place.

It was incredibly quiet and clean, providing a peaceful environment to relax. Due to a mistake I made, I encountered an issue, but the hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful. They went out of their way to resolve the problem, and I truly appreciated their warm hospitality. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Everything was perfect… Morio and Yoshiko were both really welcoming and generous. They gave us cakes for Christmas and drove us to the station, which was such a big help. The room itself was spacious and very comfortable. There was a very cozy heated table that we absolutely loved. The breakfast was incredible. Different menu every day which gave us the opportunity to try out different food.
