Cute traditional Japanese house, with original paper sliding doors. The host is super polite and helpful. The place was spotlessly clean, bathroom and toilets were newly renovated with the latest fitting. There was a washer for us to use and we were glad to finally clean our 5 days worth of dirty trekking gear. There is also a little Japanese garden at the back of the house. Pity we don’t have more time to enjoy the surroundings. This house is also just about 100 meters infront of the Hayatama Taisha shrine. Very convenient.

It’s a self-contained 1-room apartment, complete with kitchen and shower-room. All modern. Beautiful clean tatami floor and comfortable futons. Amazingly, as an extra welcome, the kitchen is stocked with a selection of local drinks (including Wakayama-produced saké). The owner met us on arrival, explained everything clearly. All in all, if i come back to Shingu i will definitely want to stay here again.

We were blown away over how great Ajito Hostel was! We couldn’t believe it is a hostel. The quality was far above a good hotel! The place was so neat, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable and with so many services like free coffee, local fruit, water and fresh bed every day! Everything seemed brand new. It was truly the best place we’ve stayed on our trip through Japan so far. We highly recommend staying here!

Our stay was really comfortable at this property. Host was really friendly and kind. On our check out date it was pouring rain and they gave us ride to the station 😊 Bicycles were really usefull for getting around Shingu.

Beautiful old-style guesthouse right next to Hayatama Taisha. The location is absolutely amazing. Hayatama Taisha is literally steps away from the front door. There are river views from the room and the tatami floor rooms are beautiful.
