I have stayed at Hanare before and always try to come back whenever I visit Tokyo. The premises are simplistic, yet beautiful to those with an appreciation for traditional architecture and decor. The staff are communicative and helpful, the breakfast is thoughtful and delicious, and the location is slightly tucked away yet still very accessible. My partner and I really enjoyed staying here, and would do so again in a heartbeat.

Our hostess was extremely welcoming and friendly. She couldn't do enough for us. We left our bags here overnight and before leaving for the airport. The room was small but functional. Better for a couple rather than a family. Shared facilities were fine as well. Pretty close to Asakusa with a variety of transport 5-10 mins in any direction.

Li was a fantastic host. She's very knowledgeable about the area and has recommendations for whatever piques your interests in Tokyo. The space was consistently kept clean and Li kept it stocked with snacks/drinks in case the guest's needed a little pick me up. The space itself has a guitar (if you play) so it's suitable for releasing some creative thoughts during your travels and it's also equipped with a number of games and reading materials regarding Tokyo if you're after any additional recommendations. The location itself is just outside of busier parts of Tokyo, so you can ease into your day, but it has great connections to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, and the surrounding areas.
