We had a lovely stay here! The staff was absolutely welcoming and the room was very comfortable. We were greeted with a warm cup of tea, it was wonderful :) Their large garden is a great space to chill, and they also have a book exchange! Thank you :)

This place is fantastic! It’s in a great location with easy access to roads, groceries, and food shops. The view of the surrounding paddy fields is absolutely stunning, and the peaceful vibe is unmatched. The owner and staff are incredibly supportive and friendly, and the place is spotless. Highly recommend!

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

The owner, Michael is an exceptionally fine host. His only motivation is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. This is our 10th year in SL and we have had few meals as skilfully prepared. Just tell him what you like to eat and he'll oblige. The countryside here is amazing and quiet although only 2.5km from the town centre. On top of all this, his prices for food and drink are exceptionally fair. Highly recommend.

Calm & Peace Place.❤ Good for couple short or long stay.

Breakfast was great. I wish they would have a buffet rather than restrcting the quantity of food one can have. Also this should be mentioned in the booking stage. Set menu with set quantity. Rest everything was great.

The room was very clean and big. Everything was superb. The owner and his wife was very kind. Location is a bit far from the center but we had our own tuk tuk so it was not a problem for us.

Janith the host was the real highlight! Such a kind gentleman with great English. Made us feel very welcome and had great suggestions for where to eat in town. Location of this accommodation is also perfect - very near town for food and access to bus station but not noisy. Very peaceful. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling through to or from Ella or Diyaluma falls. The room was sufficient. While the rest house in general had certainly seen better days, the room was very clean, had air con, hot water, 2 beds with mosquito nets, provided soap and towels and even had mineral water and a fridge that could be ysed in the communal area.
