This was the place we enjoyed the most in our two months in Sri Lanka. Shas and his wife were amazing host. The place was very clean and tidy, there is a kitchen in case you would like to use it. The beach is one minute away walking and it was delightful to wake up and see the sunrise there. The garden is also very special, many spots to chill and birds to see. The breakfast was also great and the scooter for rent were very nice with a very reasonable price. We booked 3 nights and end up staying more than one week, we felt so comfortable there.

Excellent as I expected because I stayed there last year.So peaceful my days on the beach were tremendous, almost the whole beach to myself,only a few locals every now and then.Brenda makes the stay by providing anything and everything your heart desires.If you want a peaceful relaxing simple natural place to stay slightly outside of Trincomalee this is it. Clean beautiful room, lovely garden and lovely people

Everything was good. Nice location, 4 minutes walking to the beach. Some restaurants near. Wifi works good. Owner was so nice with us, he provides hot water too many times for make coffee and tea. The room is big and comfortable. He clean the place everyday You can also rent motorbike or do laundry here. We recommend a lot this place!

We got more than we had expected in many ways. The location is fantastic, very close to the beach, and to the centre of the city. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. What we hadn’t been expecting was that the owner, Prabha would be an excellent and versatile cook trained in Germany. Once we found out that we didn’t have to go anywhere else for dinner, I was able to enjoy fabulous seafood every night on the veranda of the hotel while enjoying the sea breezes. Since there aren’t any good vegetarian restaurants in Trincomalee, and my husband is a vegetarian, Prabha cooked different vegetarian meals for him every night. This was a happy and completely unexpected discovery and made our trip much more pleasurable. Prabha is a very considerate host, and does his best to make his guests happy.

The previous review was mistakenly posted for a different property. This is the correct one. I stayed here in July with a last-minute booking, but the warm welcome made me feel right at home. Upon arrival, they helped me park and quickly showed me to my room, which was very clean. There’s no air conditioning, but a pleasant breeze comes through the window, and the mosquito net allowed me to sleep comfortably even though I usually dislike bugs. The hotel is in a great location—just a few minutes’ walk to the beach. Nearby, there are shops selling beer, wine, and ice, as well as a delicious and affordable Sri Lankan restaurant right next door (takeout available). There’s no fridge in the room, but the owner kindly let me use their family fridge to chill my drinks. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were always around and ready to assist with anything. As a guest, I could book snorkeling tours to Pigeon Island and dolphin & whale watching trips at a special rate. Even same-day bookings were arranged smoothly, including transport to the meeting point. Communication via WhatsApp was easy and efficient. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back next time I visit Sri Lanka. Thank you to the owner and the whole family for a lovely time!

A perfect couple of days staying at this wonderful new property in Uppeveli. The room was very spacious and light, the mattress and bed were really comfortable, the bathroom is also wonderfully soacious with 2 very good showers. Beyond the bedrooms, there are plenty of more communal spaces (currently no seating, but you can easily take the chair from your bedroom out here) and a wonderful veranda surrounding the whole of the 1st floor. The host is incredibly kind and helpful, and is able to arrange tours with his contacts if you would like. Location wise, it is down a quiet lane just off the main road, making it easy to access yet remarkably peaceful. You can access the beach a 5 minute walk away, which is perfectly okay if you would like to go for a beach walk or watch a gorgeous sunrise with the locals out on their finishing boats. Beyond that, just a 5 minute Tuktuk ride away is Fernando’s bar, which has a lively beach bar feel, catering for any kind of food, with hammocks and sun loungers under the palms, and beach parties every night. 5 minutes in the other direction from the hotel is Trincomalee, allowing you to see the more cultural side of the area. All in all, this great new property is great value, in the ideal location to explore the areas easily, and with a host who bends over backwards to accommodate you- if you are looking for a place to stay near Trincomalee, this is the place to go.
