We stayed at Rustic Cottages to visit the Udawalawe National Park. Sandeep at Rustic Cottages helped us arrange everything - driver, lunch and park tickets - including picking up our friends at another hotel on the way. The rooms were super nice and fresh - nothing to complain about. Sandeep also helped us with a driver on the day of departure and offered his service via text throughout our stay in Sri Lanka - just fantastic!

This place is a real gem. The accommodation was amazing. It was very clean and comfortable. The host was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The safari tour exceeded all expectations and I highly recommend as a safari guide.... very experienced and knowledgeable. I also enjoyed my meals during my stay here. Breakfast is delicious! This place was one of my favourites in Sri Lanka! It is quite a lovely surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as well as the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - The food: Amazing! home made food served on a banana leaf, accompanied by candle lights and the sounds of nature! - The Safari: Dimu provided us with the contact of a local who drives safari cars, and who was very nice company on my trip! He gave me a few pointers, and was very flexible with my requests. - The Massage: They also have a nearby masseuse who offers traditional Sri Lanki Ayurvedic massage in her home, with home made oils/creams.... Oh my God! It was so good, I did not want it to end! - The helpfulness: Dimu also arranged a taxi to my next destination, and made sure I was fully safe as I was travelling alone and it was quite late at night. He joined the trip to help me feel safe! Overall, totally worth it, you will really enjoy! !

A warm and friendly personal service will greet you when you stay at this charming family run place. Spacious, clean and comfortable cottages with outdoor bathrooms, homemade cake and juice on arrival and advice for safari tours are all part of the service. Breakfast and dinner were some of the best food we ate on our trip, lovingly created for us with local ingredients used to create delicious Sri Lankan dishes. We went on a 6 hour private safari option arranged by Mango Tree and loved our experience spotting buffalo, many elephants, crocodiles, deer and a variety of different birds. A simple and tasty lunch was provided and served in the park. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and offered a personalised experience. The next day he swapped the safari jeep for a Tuk Tuk when we went to visit the orphaned elephants at the local transit home. I would suggest a 4 hours safari, more than enough to see animals. This was a very comfortable place to stay, truly homely and an excellent place to visit both the park and the elephant transit home.

What a perfect glamping experience! The tents are built in a very natural but luxury way and we loved our stay there and would go back again… for sure! The camp is located perfectly to make a safari in the close by udawalawe national park though you can also see lots of animals sitting on the terasse in front of the tent! Erange, the owner is very helpful in organizing trips for you… not to forget to mention the exceptionally delicious food, cooked by Eranges wife! The perfect place for a calm and relaxing stay!!!

We liked our stay very much. Accomodation exceeded our expectations. Due to price and photos it looks very basic, but it was completly everything you might need. Garden is so beautiful, outside shower is really nice touch. You are in the middle of jungle and it really feels like in middle of jungle, but still you have all the comfort you might need. Owner of the place helped us to plan the safari trip and it was just unforgetable. Our guide was super nice and super professional. We really enjoyed our stay.
