The food and service at The Backwater's Lodge was exceptional and even though we missed our flight connection they rearranged everything without any issue. I recommend a swim in the river after a day safari!

Lovely property hosted by a family. We had lovely breakfast and dinner served both nights looking over the rice paddies! Bed was comfortable. AC cold and wifi good for Sri Lanka! The accommodation was perfect for us a couple who have been hostel and home stay hopping across Asia! The location is very rural which is just what we needed after hectic days of safari which was arranged by Kurumba lodge and they provided water, breakfast and lunch for us! Thanks so much we loved our stay!

Dylan has been a eonderful host. He welcomed us despite we arrived earlier than check-in time, pick-up and drop off were wondefully planned, same for the organitazion of the safari, and breakfasts and dinners were everyday different and were delicous! We would recommend it

Very clean. Everything was new and it semelles amazing. The caretaker was very polite and cooked is incredible dinner. If you want to do the Safari, this place is perfect. We booked a Safari with getyourguide but you can also book directly with them.

Basically next door to the park entrance, incredibly delicious Sri Lankan home cooked dinner, good room and Susil went out of his way to contact a petrol station that charged me £100 on the way there, calling them and arranging for them to refund to his bank account and then giving me cash. Perfect place for a Safari. Highly recommend.
