I came on a solo trip to the Maldives and stayed 4 days in Bougan Villea retreat. I felt so welcome and taken care of throughout. The inn is new so everything is clean and in great condition. The local beach is currently under reclamation but the bikini beach is just a 3 minute walk away. The beach there is beautiful with a truly amazing house reef. I snorkelled there about 8 times in the 4 days and I saw pufferfish, squid/calamari, sharks, and even caught glimpse of a manta coming to the reef. A special thanks to Anwar from the resort, who personally brought me snorkelling to show me the good spots. He also brought me to see the night feeding of nurse sharks, and took me on a motorcycle ride around the island on my last night. As a guests, I was able to borrow snorkel equipment for free, as well as the stand up paddleboard. The highlight of my trip was paying to go out to swim with the Manta Rays, an experience I will never forget. They were huge and majestic, and it was just magical. Although the island is not big, I’m thankful for the 4 days at this lovely place.

We were extremely satisfied with the accommodation Aquatic. It exceeded our expectations not only with the room facilities but also with the approach of the manager Arey. From the beginning of the reservation until our departure, the accommodation manager was available to us. When we wanted to know something, he was always happy to advise us. This is how I imagine the manager's approach to guests. Very pleasant and helpful people. The room was large enough. We always had a bottle of water in the room. Clean accommodation with an excellent location on the island. It took us about a minute to get everywhere. A minute to breakfast, a minute to the shop, a minute to the beach. We felt very comfortable there. I definitely recommend it. One of our most beautiful holidays in the Maldives.

We had a fantastic 5-night stay at Velana Vibes on Mathiveri. Although our flight delay caused us to miss the last boat, the host Munzir kindly arranged a night in Malé at his own expense and offered to cover taxi costs – a truly generous gesture. On the island, his assistant Imma took great care of us throughout the stay – from preparing delicious breakfasts to organizing our return transfer and even lending umbrellas during rain. The guesthouse is modern, very clean, and well maintained. Our room was spacious, air-conditioned, with a private bathroom and daily cleaning. There’s a lovely shaded lounge/dining area, free use of a washing machine and a drinking water dispenser – thoughtful extras that made a big difference. The location is perfect – just a few minutes’ walk to the bikini beach, local shops, and restaurants. When we were briefly stranded on a picnic island due to a storm, Imma quickly arranged a boat to bring us back. The hosts also offered a short buggy tour around the island to introduce key spots. They provide a variety of excursions and activities too. Overall, Velana Vibes was an excellent choice – friendly hosts, great service, and a peaceful island setting. Thank you Munzir and Imma – we hope to come back!

I have been looking for cheap, simple but comfortable accommodation and I definitely found it! Ever Blue Guest House has only 4 rooms with share livingroom and also terrace dinning and kitchen which I could use. Room: comfortable bed (I like hard mattress), small fridge, TV, AC, fan, hairdryer, spacious bathroom with toilet, towels, beach towel, drying rack, daily water. What else do you wish for? Room was daily cleaned which I didn’t need. Breakfast: They always asked me what time I would like to have a breakfast and what would I like to have (I am not breakfast person plus have GF diet). I end up just with eggs and fruit but have been offered pancakes, sausages etc. Kitchen and dining area: I could use the kitchen and make my own food, coffee, tea. The great addition are also ceiling fans in dining area (they are actually everywhere) as when it’s really hot and humid this helps massively. I have to say huge thank you to the owner for helping me when weather was extremely bad and public boat was cancelled. He managed to find a private boat to take me to my next island. It was lovely to talk to him every evening and learn about his family, life on the island and much more.

The room was spotless, with brand-new furnishings (as of February 2025). The towels and bedding were high quality, and the ample seating area added to the comfort. The manager lady was exceptionally responsive and communicated flawlessly in English, making our arrival stress-free and reassuring. The room's soundproofing was remarkable—despite a short birthday party directly above us one night, barely any noise filtered through. Peaceful neighborhood with few mosquitoes. The air conditioner was placed in a small corridor leading to the bathroom, cleverly positioned away from the bed for a more restful night, which was appreciated. The bathroom was modern, with a spacious and comfortable shower, plenty of hot water, and well-stocked amenities, including high-quality shower gel and items like toothbrushes. Filtered drinking water was available when needed. Breakfast, though simple, was fresh and of good quality. I recommend trying the local coconut-tuna mixture spread over buttered roti. The attentive staff welcomed us at the harbor and took care of us throughout our stay. The highlight of our trip was a snorkeling excursion led by the friendly and knowledgeable Mr. Shah. His genuine warmth and care for our experience made it unforgettable. In a couple of hours, we swam with a manta ray, explored a vibrant coral reef, and encountered large sharks and a stingray. Ali Shah is a warm-hearted host and a fun company.

Amazing place with impossible friendly people! Royal Reef is located directly near the bikini beach where you can find a lot of shadow below the trees. Guys in this place are unbealievable friendly and helpful - could organise each trip about you dream with really really good price. We spent 8 dreamed nights in this place and it was our number one from all our travel experiences. All lokal people on Mathiveri Island are very friendly, so when will you come to Mathiveri - you can spend amazing paradise holidays in Maldives and during the same time spend time with amazing friendly locals.
