The room was great, very clean and had everything one needed despite its size. Since i was travelling alone it was perfect, right in the city center 2-10' away from every main attraction of coimbra. 3 ' away from the main square near the river also. I would like to share the experience i had with the host, since i was in coimbra during the power shut down. As soon as she could contact me, she went by the house and left some canned food, supplies and also homemade soup. It was a very touching move and i felt at home.

Susana was an amazing host, and little Arya too! They both warmly welcomed us with a wide smile, alongside some cute gifts, a cool Praxis beer and many treats for our dog... and a puppy bed that served as a soft pillow. It's not easy to find amazing stays that are truly pet-friendly as well. Location-wise, it's walking distance from Coimbra's downtown though it might still be better to use a car since it's a bit of a climb. There's a supermarket, a few cafés, and most points-of-interest south-west of the river close-by. The room has it own entrance and a small patio, which is convenient (Susana lived upstairs), and it was very cozy and well decorated. While it does not have a kitchenet per-se, it actually felt more like an apartment, and would be great for shorter stays or those looking to eat out more often (the city has tons of great restaurants). The microwave and coffee-maker should fulfill most needs.

This is the best view in Coimbra. There are two rooms, on two levels of the building both with amazing views. They share a huge common area and balcony, and the breakfast is served in a separate kitchen. The building itself is full of history and is located just some stairs away from the University of Coimbra. Ana is warm and welcoming host, ready to go far and beyond to provide a comfortable stay and experiences in town.
