10 out of 10. Isabel and Pierre are just perfect hosts. The room and bed were both very comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the stay overall very pleasant. The room had a fridge with complimentary water and soft drinks, converters for european plugs, and a beautiful view towards the mountains - we got what we needed to mend two very tired travellers. Do not miss the opportunity to dine in their onsite restaurant as you won't be disappointed they have amazing talented chefs who cook with pure passion and innovation to deliver Michelin star quality food at local prices, And what a meal!!!. The food, presention and service is just incredible (so if you don’t stay here, make sure you eat here) as you'll be blown away by the standard and quality. we are so thankful to the team for one of the most memorable stays we’ve had on this trip to Swellendam and SA. We enjoyed our short stay at Birdsong cottage. Its well located within a few minutes walk of several restaurants as well as the older, historical part of Swellendam. The cottage is situated within a beautiful garden. under trees and was cool in the summer heat. It also has a fire place for winter evenings. We noted that the cottage was tastefully styled and the pictures were an accurate reflection of how it looks. The king sized bed was very comfortable and had quality bed linen. Colin was a great host, friendly and informative. We would stay there again.
