Victor and his family were so kind and welcoming. I arrived to a lovely fire and within a few minutes of arriving had a meal ready for me. Breakfast was a huge meal and prices for the lunch is really good. It was such a nice place with beautiful view, so quiet and peaceful and right next to the start of the quilotoa loop trek.

The owners of the hostal live onsite and are so helpful and sweet!! I had a simple private room which was very comfy, quiet, and well equipped. Breakfast always had good coffee and yummy fruits.

The Yellow House is 1 km from El Jardin Shopping Center and from El Ejido Park. Historic Quito city centre is 5 minutes' drive or 20 minutes' walk away. This property is run by the most lovely German mother and daughter duo. A huge bonus is that they speak fluent English, German, and Spanish. The rooms are big, airy, and clean. They also serve a breakfast with fresh juice, coffee, variety of fruits, bread, and eggs. This is an extremely safe location as it is literally a 1 min walk to the center of Plaza Foch. (This area is heavily patrolled by police so one of the few areas in Quito that is safe at night with tons of restaurants and bars around.) There is also a supermarket Maxi close by. Another bonus I found out through being here is that Gabi, the mother, also works as a tour operator so she can help with planning or recommendations of where to go since she has been living in Ecuador for over 10 years along with running this hotel. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Decorated with lively-coloured bedspreads and walls, rooms at Quito Colonial House are very bright. Some of them have private bathrooms. Laundry service is available. I don't know how to express my feelings about staying in the colonial house. , I enjoyed it thoroughly. Mrs. Ornelia, the lady of the house, was such a generous person. Warm and special appreciation to Mr. Santiago and the staff. Lady Ornelia's son gave me a warm welcome, which flattered me. I can't say enough about their organic breakfast menu. For me, the colonial house was an awesome and cozy place to stay. And again, special thanks to everyone. (We all know that traveling is nice and full of experiences. Backpackers travel for long periods, and after some unpleasant experiences, our travels can become challenging and hectic. So, the colonial house can be a good opportunity to stay long and chill and plannn for next steps ;) . The prices are low compared to their quality, so stay in the garden zone, use the gym there as they possess facilities , watch some your favourite movies on their netflix, have a barbecue, take your sunbath, and sip your lemonade with their affordable organic breakfast.)
