There was a lovely tea/coffee station and decanter of sherry in our room. The absolute best parts were interacting with Ollie the manager who makes you feel like part of the family and the fantastic breakfasts (definitely try the porridge with whisky, honey, and cream). It’s a short walk to the heart of the old town but far enough removed to be quiet and peaceful. I will always try to stay here when back in Edinburgh.

We were visiting for the marathon and they even offered to get up early to prepare a meal for us. The room was beautiful and cleaned daily. The breakfast was delicious (especially Rowena's homemade sourdough!). I could not recommend the Sheridan Guest House enough and will definitely be back if I visit Edinburgh again.

Sinead and Chris were extremely friendly and helpful. The place was quiet, clean, comfortable. Ideal for a little getaway. I left pretty early in the morning so they also packed a breakfast bag to go. The beach is literally at the end of the street, 2 minutes away. I will definitely be coming back!

In general, accommodation around Edinburgh is quite expensive so we found this place which was relatively affordable compared to other places and had a high rating. It is a house-turned-b&b, has 3 small rooms and a nice small dining room. Everything was super clean and Lorna was the friendliest host we have ever met. She gives you a small form to fill every night to get your breakfast preferences and time to eat. Her cooking is lovely. Definitely recommend her full Scottish breakfast with Haggis. She cooked the best haggis out of the 3 restaurants we tried. The only downside was that the place is quite far from the city (45 min bus ride - take X27) and there is only one bus that goes there but if you catch it and don't mind the travel time, it is definitely worth a stay.

The space was bright, clean and airy, the beds were really comfortable and offered complimentary cold milk and fizzy water. The kitchenette solutions for the family suite were very clever (ex. a storage container with a dish rack inside, to help you move the dishes safely after you washed them in the bathrooms sink).
