Rio Dulce
Situated just 16 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Hotel Casa Perico features accommodation in Rio Dulce with access to a garden, a bar, as well as a tour desk. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, free shuttle service and room service, along with free WiFi. The guest house has family rooms. Absolutely wonderful! I loved arriving by boat. Using the canoes was loads of fun. Got lucky and had a great group of solo travelers with me in the dorm. The food is good and fairly priced (not dirt cheap, but worth the price).
Rio Dulce
Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and organising tours for guests. Super awesome host. Very accommodating and helpful! Included complimentary simple breakfast - pancakes, banana, and coffee freshly made. I arrived with a car so needed a parking space. The parking was available. No issues there. Bed was comfy and clean.
Lívingston
Casa Manatí provides accommodation in Lívingston. It is situated a few steps from Ribera Rio Dulce Beach and offers a shared kitchen. The guest house features mountain views, a picnic area, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Julio’s cabana was newly built and very spacious. He just finished the new porch overhang the day before my arrival! I really liked the rustic feel of the home, and how private it was. I was the only one on the property during my stay. I stayed in the private room, but took a look upstairs at the loft. There are multiple beds in an open floor layout, with mosquito netting to ensure a comfortable sleep. There are kayaks available for a small extra fee, making getting around on the river very easy - especially if you have friends nearby, would like to visit the thermal waters, or grab dinner at Restaurante Viajero. Julio also has a well stocked kitchen if you will be doing your own cooking, as well as an EcoFilter water purifier. Loved my stay! Thank you Julio and your family for making me feel welcome.
Good place to rest, very quiet, lovely host
Within five minutes of placing a call we were whisked off to this charming riverside location. Our pleasant host, welcomed us and showed us to our well appointed room. Special thanks to Angie who was really helpful. The breakfast was first class as was the service. I just wish we had the time to stay longer.
There is a free boat shuttle provided by the hotel for pick up and drop off in Rio dulce to a specific schedule, cheap kayak rental, quiet atmosphere and friendly (and mostly competent) staff. They can also easily arrange you a highly recommended boat trip to Livingston.
The hostel room was amazing, so lovely to wake up to the sunrise everyday. The room is spacious and quiet. The staff were amazing! The resturant was great.
Great hostel. Only 1 bunk bed in my room. Host really friendly. 5 minutes walk to town. 15 minutes walk to ferry
The hostel is in a gorgeous peaceful setting next to the river with hammocks at the dock. Meals had large portions and were reasonably priced. Large pour of wine for slightly over $3. Owner was very nice and informative. Place was unbelievably cheap.
Very friendly staff, the hostess speaks fluent English, it’s a great relief if you are not too fluent speaking Spanish. The instructions on how to get to the hotel are thorough, just take a time to read the guidelines. Restaurant serves all meals from breakfast to dinner, all was delicious what we had. Place is quiet and excellent if you’re looking for a relaxing stay.
